The Dutch External Security Registration Decision [Registratiebesluit Externe Veiligheid] imposes an obligation to register risk situations involving hazardous substances. This decision came into force on 30 March 2007. The situations concerned are those in which hazardous substances are produced, processed, stored or transported, thereby posing a potential risk to the environment. This data is stored in the Risk Register of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment and included on the risk map.
